Contacting the SI Registration Team

The SI Registration Team can provide advice to Departments on the preparation and publication of SIs to ensure that these are produced in accordance with the guidance in Statutory Instrument Practice (SIP) and, where necessary, advise on the appropriate Subject Headings to be used for Statutory Instruments. The SI Registration Team cannot advise on validation or SI Template queries, for enquiries of this nature users should contact the SI Support Team.  For other types of queries please see Contact Us.

Information regarding submitting documents for registration and onward publication can be found in the Registration Toolbox.  Specific queries regarding SI Registration, SI Practice, Subject Headings and publishing enquiries can be addressed by the SI Registration Team - please email siregistrar@nationalarchives.gov.uk or phone 020 8392 5361.

Subject Heading Enquiries

If contacting the SI Registration team for approval of a new SI Subject Heading, please email the SI Registrar with a draft of the instrument, giving your suggested subject heading/s and any relevant background. The SI Registrar can then provide advice on the appropriate subject heading to use or, if necessary, approve a new subject heading.
