Contacting the Statutory Publications Office

In Northern Ireland SRs are drafted using the SI Template and when complete are submitted to the Statutory Publications Office (NI) (SPO) for registration. SPO is responsible for the registration and numbering of all Statutory Rules of Northern Ireland and their inclusion in a printed Annual Volume of SRs and in the Chronological Table of SRs. SPO also manages training in the SI Template. Any queries relating to SRs should be sent to SPOLegislation@executiveoffice-ni.gov.uk or phone 0289 052 8481 (Ext.  28481) or 0289 052 3237 (Ext.. 23237).  There is generally someone available to answer phone calls between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Subject Heading Enquiries

If contacting the SPO for approval of a new SI Subject Heading,  please email SPOLegislation@executiveoffice-ni.gov.uk with a draft of the instrument, giving your suggested subject heading/s and any relevant background. SPO can then provide advice on the appropriate subject heading to use or, if necessary, approve a new subject heading.
