Non-Templated SSIs

The Non-Templated SSI Workflow

Some Instruments that do not follow the normal structure of a standard SSI document, or require a numbering scheme that is not supported by Microsoft Word, and need to be produced using a non-templated workflow.  The non-templated workflow takes longer to produce an SSI as it involves the typesetting and proofing of the SSI document and attracts a higher publishing fee than the templated workflow.  Users should contact the SI Support Team for advice about using the non-templated workflow at the earliest opportunity in the drafting process.

The non-templated workflow assumes that the Department will provide a free-form Word document that the contracted Publisher (TSO) will style correctly using the SI Template and submit for validation. The validated Word file will then be provided to the Department.

This file should then be submitted for registration and publication and TSO will ensure the Instrument publishes with the unsupported numbering scheme or document structure.
