SI Template & User Manual

The SI Template has been developed to allow users to draft Instruments in the correct format and enable streamlined publishing of the Instrument in both print and electronic formats. The template is based upon standard MS Word functionality with which most users are familiar.

Template styles are designed to allow electronic publication on legislation.gov.uk.  A characteristic of each style is also to produce a typographically correct printed version of the Instrument.

The design, functionality and correct usage of the template are all essential factors in the success of the validation, registration and publishing processes provided by the legislation.gov.uk Publishing Service.  Automated validation and conversion processes are used in the legislation workflow.  Incorrect use of the template, or changes to template styles, will cause errors in the workflow. Submitting a valid file ensures accurate and timely publication.
