Using Bundles

Using Bundles to Submit SRs and Associated Documents

A bundle is a term used to describe the group of documents that are submitted for the registration and publication process.  For example, a ‘UKSI bundle’ refers to the group of documents related to a made UK SI where there is usually an associated Explanatory Memorandum and perhaps an Impact Assessment.

The bundles are presented on a carousel showing three bundles at a time.  There are arrows on the side of the carousel to allow users to navigate between the various bundle types where there are more than three bundles available.

  • Northern Ireland users have a choice of 4 bundle types:
  • Northern Ireland Statutory Rule Bundle – used to submit general SRs which are made instruments.
  • Northern Ireland Draft Statutory Rule Bundle – used to submit draft SRs with the appropriate draft banner and headnote.
  • Northern Ireland Local Statutory Rule Bundle Bundle– used to submit local SRs, and select whether they are print or non-print.
  • Associated Document Bundle – used to submit a document that is associated to an SR that has already been published.

Certain document types not currently supported on legislation.gov.uk Publishing including Correction Slips, Corrective Reprints, and certain approved classes of SRs. If you are unsure of which submission method you need for a particular document, please contact the SPO who can provide guidance.  To submit these items you should use the “Update an Instrument that has been published” option provided by the third box of the Registration Landing Page.

The Class of an SR as determined by the type of Parliamentary control it is subject to determines which bundle type and submission route you will need to follow.
